It's the season for being thankful, and we couldn't be more grateful for you.

Gratitude is at the center of the holidays — a time to be thankful for everything and everyone who has sustained our year. At the University of Nebraska Foundation, we’re grateful for your support and generosity to the University of Nebraska and its students.
Once again, we’ve tossed aside plans for a printed holiday greeting card. Instead, we’re using those funds to make contributions in your honor to benefit students on each campus this holiday season.
  • In Lincoln, we’re partnering with UNL Housing so students staying over Thanksgiving break may enjoy a traditional holiday dinner together.
  • At UNMC, we’re providing breakfast for students during finals week.
  • Students at Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis are receiving snacks as they study for exams.
  • At UNK and UNO, we’re supporting their respective on-campus food pantries — Big Blue Cupboard and Maverick Food Pantry — which help in-need students year round.

Just before sending this greeting, we learned that your generosity and that of other contributors to the university have placed the University of Nebraska Foundation on the list of America’s 100 Favorite Charities for 2018. It’s an annual ranking by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, a national publication focused on the nonprofit sector.
This recognition speaks entirely to what you and others do across the university in support of its life-changing and often life-saving programs and initiatives. You should feel very proud.
Again, thank you for all you do for your university, especially for its students. We hope the contributions we’re making for students in your honor bring a little more joy to your holiday season.
We wish you much thankfulness, happiness and peace.
