Otto L. Bendheim, M.D. was born on August 12, 1911 in Frankfurt, Germany and passed away February 6, 2003 in Scottsdale. He came to Phoenix in 1939 as Superintendent of the State Hospital, founded Camelback Hospital in 1954, served on the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners, was President of the Arizona Psychiatric Society and had a private psychiatric practice for over 50 years. In addition, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. from 1942-1946.
