COINS, not Carefree

Update No. 4

First of all, we want to say thank you for your patience and willingness to be an early adopter. Your early investment gave us our start, and your continued support is going to put us on the map.
By now you've probably been asked, "why aren't they shipping until summer?" and it's a fair question. The answer is simple; we want to get it right.
See, the thing is; no one's ever done what Coin is doing. For quality control, we're building our machinery from scratch and customizing our first manufacturing line right here in the Bay Area. By centralizing our manufacturing and assembly, our design team, product developers, and engineers work side-by-side to optimize our production process.
We are now in the process of ramping up by building more test Coins everyday in order to stabilize yields for producing in quantity. This is an essential process of scaling manufacturing that any hardware product has to go through.
We do everything as a team under one roof. All the cooks, one kitchen. The result of that strategy is consistent quality and endless opportunity for improvement. Coin is a new idea, which means we learn as we go. For some, that would be daunting. For us...it's exciting.
